What’s an AMRAP Workout?

AMRAP stands for “As Many Rounds As Possible.” It’s a high-intensity workout format where you perform a set of exercises for a fixed amount of time, aiming to complete as many rounds as you can. AMRAPs are great for building endurance, burning calories, and pushing your limits.

Setting Up Your AMRAP Timer

Our fitness timer app makes it easy to set up and track your AMRAP workouts. Here’s how to configure it:

  1. Open the Interval timer.
  2. RD Setting: This sets the number of rounds. For AMRAPs, you’ll typically use just one round.
  3. H1 Setting: This is your work time - the duration of your AMRAP.
  4. H2 Setting: This sets your rest time between rounds.
  5. Specify if you want the time to increment or decrement by pressing the arrows in the bottom left.

Example AMRAP Workout

Let’s set up a timer for this AMRAP workout:

  • 5 pushups
  • 10 situps
  • 15 air squats
  • 3 minutes of work, 1 minute of rest
  • Repeat 5 times

Here’s how you’d configure the timer:

  • RD: 5 (5 rounds total)
  • H1: 3:00 (3 minutes of work)
  • H2: 1:00 (1 minute of rest)

Hit start, and you’re ready to go. Push yourself to complete as many rounds as possible in each 3-minute work period, then rest for a minute.

Customizing Your AMRAP

Want a longer AMRAP? Just increase the H1 setting. Need more recovery? Bump up H2. Training for endurance? Add more rounds with RD. The app adapts to your fitness level and goals.
